Crashworthiness

We undertake projects of automobile crashworthiness, crashworthiness analysis,automobile crashworthiness analysis, on full vehicle level and subsystem level. We carry out FE Analysis on Vehicle Structure to evaluate its performance from crashworthiness point of view and optimize the structure to meet the requirements.

Typical Projects:

• Full Frontal impact, offset frontal impact, rear impact, side impact, roll over simulation, roof crush test, slow speed bumper impact test, pendulum impact test on bumpers, bus body rollover and pendulum test (survival space evaluation) and pedestrian impact.
• Head impact on interiors, Door intrusion test, Seat belt anchorage test, Knee bolster characteristic optimization, Collapsible steering performance evaluation and optimization, etc.
• We use deformable FE dummies and Barriers.
• We work as per the regulatory requirements or as per the customers specs. We are familiar with ECE, FMVSS, IS standards, EURO-NCAP and US-NCAP requirements.

Simulation Models
We use car models with inflated tires and deformable suspension components. Generally the models range from 300,000 nodes to 1,000,000 nodes. We use an IBM 8 core server for computation. The solution time ranges from 8hrs to 24 hrs for above type of models.
